Are you a highly motivated Software Engineer that is experienced with C/C++ and Qt? Are you excited to work with innovative technology in aviation? Then come aboard AMERICAN SYSTEMS as our next Software Engineer, Staff!

As our next Software Engineer, you'll collaborate with talented professionals to create innovative, mission-critical solutions that empower naval aviation and defense operations. Your expertise will help shape cutting-edge systems, enhance national security, and drive technological advancement for our nation!
ResponsibilitiesAs a Software Engineer, Staff, you will:
- Develop software for aircraft autopilots and associated avionics systems.
- Participate in ground and flight testing of the developed systems.
- Work with the latest, cutting edge technology
- Work with a team of driven, supportive and highly skilled professionals.

A week in the life of a Software Engineer, Staff, includes:
- Design, develop, document, test and debug software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions for aircraft autopilots and associated avionics.
- Work with systems engineers, aerospace engineers, electrical engineers, developers and others to develop fully digital autpilot systems.
- Develop Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) as part of our simlation and System Integration Lab environments.
- Develop software using C/C++ and the Qt framework.
- Develop avionics software in a hard real-time environment.
- Develop avionics software in accordance with DO-178C.
- BS Computer Engineering or Computer Science
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience with C/C++ and Qt
- Minimum of 1 years of related work experience in the field of aircraft avionics
- Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
