Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Trussville, Alabama

Seeking an experienced RN to support a neuroscience/neurosurgery unit on a contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for skilled professionals passionate about neuro care and eager to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.


Key Details:

• Schedule: 1845-0715, night shift
• Guaranteed 36 hours weekly
• Every other weekend required

Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years' experience in neuro and neurosurgery care
• Current AHA BLS and AHA NIHSS certifications
• Strong clinical judgment and quick decision-making skills
• Flexible to float as needed between units
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Professionalism in communicating with patients and colleagues
• Required to wear navy blue scrubs; artificial fingernails are not permitted

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to neurosurgery and neuroscience patients
• Monitor and assess patient status, responding quickly to changes
• Administer medications, perform neurologic assessments, and assist with procedures
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR
• Uphold safety and infection control standards at all times
• Provide education and support to patients and their families
