Blue Chip Talent , in partnership with an insurance organization, is seeking a skilled Total Rewards/Compensation Specialist for a shor contract (with potential for extension ). This role is responsible for supporting compensation analysis, developing pay recommendations, aligning job architecture, and documenting key benefits processes to improve operational consistency.
This role is a short-term contract with the potential to extend. This company is fully on-site in Livonia, MI.
Job Duties
- Conduct market analyses for new, revised, and existing roles
- Develop compensation recommendations for promotions, job changes, new hires, and equity adjustments
- Review job descriptions for alignment with levels, titles, scope, and compensation structures
- Support job architecture initiatives, including job family mapping, leveling, and role documentation
- Analyze internal equity, pay compression, and compensation alignment concerns
- Prepare written compensation rationales and recommendation summaries
- Enhance compensation governance tools, including templates, intake forms, checklists, and decision-support resources
- Document and streamline benefits processes, workflows, timelines, dependencies, and escalation points
Skills & Experience
Required
- Experience conducting compensation market analysis
- Experience developing compensation recommendations for promotions, job changes, new hires, and equity adjustments
- Knowledge of job architecture, job leveling, job family mapping, and role documentation
- Experience analyzing internal equity, pay compression, and compensation alignment
- Experience reviewing job descriptions against compensation structures
- Experience creating compensation governance tools, templates, intake forms, or checklists
- Experience documenting HR, benefits, or total rewards processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field
Desired
- Experience supporting benefits process documentation or optimization
- Experience documenting workflows, ownership, timelines, dependencies, and escalation points
- Knowledge of paid parental leave, benefits surcharges, verification processes, or leave-related handoffs
- Experience identifying process controls, quality checks, or manual error reduction opportunities
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or regulated corporate environments
- Compensation certification such as CCP or related HR certification
