Key Responsibilities

• Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders; develop appropriate plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards.
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions; assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record.
• Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness and modify services or make referrals based on results.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to speech disorders.
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system, accurately recording treatment minutes per regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, required trainings, and in-services; supervise and support CFY or Student Speech-Language Pathologists as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active Missouri State SLP License required.
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of SLP experience required; new graduates considered with completed Level II clinical experience.
• Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience required.
• Adherence to ASHA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 3 or more years of experience holding an active CCC-SLP certification preferred.
• Experience supervising Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) clinicians or student Speech-Language Pathologists.
