Sr. Machine Learning Engineer - Machine Learning

Dyno Therapeutics seeks a senior machine learning engineer to build and scale ML infrastructure, training systems, and agentic AI workflows for genetic medicine research. The role involves collaborating with AI scientists and protein engineers to optimize model performance, design distributed training pipelines, and translate research prototypes into robust, production-grade systems. This full-time position is based in Watertown, MA or remote.

Responsibilities

• Build modular and portable ML training systems for protein design model development
• Improve scalability and performance of ML training and inference infrastructure
• Optimize model performance using GPU profiling and accelerated computing frameworks
• Develop agentic AI workflows to increase research velocity and maintain safety
• Partner with AI scientists and engineers to translate research into production systems

Requirements

• 5+ years professional software development experience for machine learning systems
• Strong software engineering fundamentals including OO design, testing, version control
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes containerization
• Large-scale distributed training or inference experience with Ray or similar frameworks
• ML performance engineering skills including profiling and custom kernel development
• Experience designing and owning technically complex systems end-to-end
• Ability to contribute to technical direction through design and documentation
