Job Description Job Summary: The Registered Nurse in the Neuro Surgical Step Down Unit provides specialized patient care for neurosurgical and post-operative patients, ensuring optimal outcomes through comprehensive assessment and intervention. This role involves collaborating with physicians to develop and implement individualized care plans, managing complex clinical needs, and advocating for evidence-based practices. Responsibilities:

- Assess patients' conditions to determine care priorities and develop tailored care plans.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions, including ventilator management and post-surgical care.
- Monitor patient progress, document care activities, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and ensure clinical standards are met.
- Advocate for evidence-based practices and support ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Float to different units within competency as necessary to support team coverage.
- Valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in MS/Tele or neuro surgical step-down units within a major acute care hospital.
- Demonstrated expertise in neuro nursing, ventilator management, and post-surgical patient care.
- Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), NIHSS, BLS (AHA), CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours.
- Preferred education: BSN.
