This is a benefited, full-time position working 8-hour day shifts on weekdays only, with no weekends required. Start times typically range between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. The position is based at Scripps Clinic Carmel Valley. Why join Scripps Health? What you'll do:

• Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
• Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice
• Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone
• Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
• Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
• Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Qualifications:

• Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
• Required Certification/Registration: BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient setting Previous experience in Orthopedics MA new grads welcome to apply!
