Bus DriverSalary: Based on local salary schedule $15.00 hourly Term: 10 Month Benefits: This position provides partial benefits including partial earned Annual and Sick LeaveQualifications:High School or Equivalent is preferredCDL with (P) Passenger and (S) School Bus endorsements is requiredMust have strong communication skills in dealing with students and parentsMust possess leadership skills to maintain discipline on the busMust be dependable and punctualJob Description:Responsible for safely transporting students to and from schoolResponsible for safety pre-checks, reporting malfunctions, handling vehicle breakdowns and maintaining a clean and safe environment for studentsResponsible for following school district procedures while driving assigned bus routesResponsible for following a route (set by Transportation Director) that ensures a routine providing students and parents with a consistent and daily pick up/drop off scheduleResponsible for students' behavior while on the bus and take suitable action to resolve incidents between/among students should incidents occurResponsible for reporting inappropriate behavior to school authorities as soon as possibleResponsible for knowing NC driving laws and regulations including safe bus operationsReports To: Superintendent, Transportation Director, Principal, or designee
