Preschool Special Education Teacher MS

Job Title Full-time Preschool Special Education Teacher (Albany). Sign‑on bonus: $6,000 (terms and conditions apply). Responsibilities Develop students’ Individualized Education Plans. Develop and implement lesson plans incorporating goals/objectives from all disciplines of each student’s IEP. Implement and monitor behavior and classroom management plans/techniques when necessary. Develop and adhere to an established daily schedule, making daily modifications/adjustments as required. Maintain communication with classroom team, parents, and program directors regarding students’ performance. Reinforce appropriate student behavior by utilizing progressive discipline techniques. Establish clear expectations for both students and classroom staff. Qualifications Initial NYS Certification in Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities Birth – Grade 2 or Special Education Permanent. Master’s degree in special education. Must be at least 18 years old. Must be able to lift 50 pounds independently. This position requires a master’s degree; however, candidates with a bachelor’s degree may be hired initially, as New York State allows individuals with an Initial Certification to teach while completing their master’s degree within a five‑year timeframe. Compensation Salary range: $60,508.50 – $69,147.00.
