UX Engineer Co-op
Into Design Systems
HqO is hiring a Summer 2026 UX Engineer Co-op for its Product Development team in Boston, reporting to the Head of Product and Design and working day-to-day with Design and Engineering. The role is hybrid, with at least three onsite days per week, and runs approximately June to December 2026 with flexibility for the academic calendar. The work includes component library contributions, Claude UI skills files, high-fidelity prototypes, production UI work, design QA, accessibility audits, and documentation. What you\'ll do Build and maintain components in the shared design system Keep the Figma design system and code library aligned Audit component coverage, remove duplicates, and document usage Maintain Claude UI skills files for component patterns, naming conventions, accessibility defaults, and design system usage Partner on AI-assisted workflows connecting design and code Refine prompts, templates, and small design automations Build polished high-fidelity prototypes with PMs and designers Use Claude Design, Claude Code, and the shared component library to create clickable prototypes What they\'re looking for Current undergraduate student, rising junior or senior, in a co-op or internship program Ideally pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Information Science, Design + Engineering, Cognitive Science, or a related field Interest in both design and writing code Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript Comfort with a utility framework like Tailwind, modern CSS-in-JS, or CSS modules Some exposure to React Ability to read a React component and make meaningful changes to it Comfort reading a design spec and translating it into components #J-18808-Ljbffr
