Dispatcher Opportunity

Are you an experienced dispatcher, looking for a great part time opportunity! We have 2 opportunities for weekend dispatchers - schedules available would be Friday/Saturday or Sunday/Monday 4:30am-4:30pm. We don't just offer a job, we offer an opportunity! Job Summary: Will perform a variety of assignments relating to scheduling a large fleet of fuel trucks and drivers. Includes resolution of transportation and customer conflicts, orders, and balances of inventory and cost control. This is a position requires you to work in a fast paced, frequently changing environment. Must be able to multi-task, handle high volume phone calls, and be proficient working with multiple computer programs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Schedule or dispatch drivers to appropriate locations, according to customer requests, specifications, and needs, using radios or telephones.
• Confer with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment.
• Monitor personnel or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.
• Receive or prepare work orders.
• Relay work orders, messages, or information to or from work crews, supervisors, or field inspectors using telephones or the computer.
• Record and maintain files or records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.
• Prepare daily work and run schedules.
• Determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required according to work orders or specifications.
• Advise personnel about traffic problems, such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, or other hazards.
• Arrange for necessary repairs to restore service and schedules.
• Reading and analyzing current market conditions and product pricing to maximize cost efficiency

Education and Skills Requirements

• High School Diploma, or equivalent
• 2+ years of prior dispatch experience
• Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office, with familiarity of Access, or other similar database software
• Able to work independently, as well as work with the team
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and strong attention to detail are required

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
• Able to bend, stand, walk, sit
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer including keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
