The Product Specialist serves as the technical and operational owner of assigned product lines, bridging the gap between Product Management and Commercial Operations. This role acts as the primary technical resource for Regional Sales Managers, representatives, and clients, ensuring that quotes are technically sound and accurately priced. The Product Specialist proactively resolves technical questions and escalations, providing strategic recommendations when standard answers are insufficient.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate quotes based on client specifications, scope, and project requirements, collaborating with the Client Operations Specialist to ensure every quote is accurately priced before reaching the representative.
• Own quote accuracy for specifications, scope, and project requirements, including CRM/quoting tool entry and quote issuance.
• Conduct technical risk and feasibility reviews, with sign-off on technical accuracy before finalizing pricing.
• Analyze historical pricing and product performance, providing insights to Regional Sales Managers upon request.
• Support and enforce product standardization across the assigned portfolio.
• Maintain product matrices, specification sheets, and sizing guidelines, escalating discrepancies to Product Management or Engineering as needed.
• Serve as the go-to expert for technical specifications and product configuration for assigned lines.
• Champion assigned product lines by partnering with Product Management to build use cases, best-practice guides, and reusable demonstration assets for internal teams.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Marketing, and the Client Operations Specialist to ensure consistent solution documentation and roadmap alignment across teams.
• Field technical product questions from Regional Sales Managers, representatives, and clients, providing strategic recommendations where a standard answer doesn't apply.
• Conduct daily SDA reviews, approving within delegated Delegation of Authority (DoA) or escalating to leadership when thresholds are exceeded.
• Ensure adherence to transactional control conditions on quotes and product changes, flagging areas of operational risk as they develop.
• Act as the liaison between Regional Sales Managers, plants, and Operations on product-related matters.
• Oversee the technical side of every quote, including configuration, feasibility, and sign-off.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in quoting processes.
• Knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing environments.
• Experience with CRM software.
• Technical support and inside sales expertise.
• Engineering knowledge.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-3 years of experience in product support, technical sales, or a related product/commercial role.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role requiring in-office presence 4 days per week and remote work 1 day per week. Work hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM CST, with a one-hour lunch break.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Grandview, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $65000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
