Non-tenure line Faculty of Instruction - Environmental Engineering Technology

Overview Texas State University’s Department of Engineering Technology seeks a Faculty of Instruction in Environmental Engineering Technology. The position is available at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. Responsibilities Teach undergraduate courses aligned with industry practice in environmental engineering technology. Advise students on curriculum and career choices. Engage with student organizations and mentor competition teams. Participate in industry associations and service activities supporting the university, department, and profession. Fulfill workload of four courses each semester (depending on expertise and departmental needs) along with rank‑appropriate service and advising duties. Workload & Start Date The preferred start date is Fall 2026, with a backup option of Spring 2027. Required Qualifications Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Engineering (with an emphasis in Environmental Engineering) or a closely related construction discipline. Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution, or a similarly accredited institution in a closely related field. Minimum of two years of undergraduate teaching experience. Demonstrated current and contemporary competence in the teaching content area. Excellent oral and written English language skills. Additional Qualifications by Rank Associate Professor At least five years of full‑time effective teaching and learning contributions, including advances in curriculum, pedagogy, or course delivery. Demonstrated record of excellent teaching abilities. Professor At least ten years of full‑time effective teaching and learning contributions, including advances in curriculum, pedagogy, or course delivery. Recognition of leadership and contributions in teaching and instructional activities (e.g., awards, accreditation reviews, curriculum innovation, program coordination, scholarly contributions). Preferred Qualifications Professional licensure relevant to the discipline. U.S.‑based industry experience in environmental and/or civil design and construction.
