SUMMARY: The Department Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an assigned food department within the grocery store.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Department Supervisor’s job is to ensure that products are properly stocked, displayed, and maintained to the highest standards of quality, freshness, food safety, and customer service. The Department Supervisor leads and supports department employees, monitors inventory levels, helps control costs, and works to achieve sales and profitability goals while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

 

Job Skill/Qualifications/Requirements : Previous experience is required. Must have Food Handlers Card. Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred.

• Inventory control and product rotation (FIFO)
• Ordering and replenishment
• Food handling and sanitation practices
• Food safety compliance
• Health and safety awareness
• Cleanliness and organization standards
• Team leadership and employee development
• Coaching, mentoring, and performance management
• Microsoft Excel and basic reporting
• Email and office software proficiency

 

Requirements:

• Two years of previous work experience in retail management, customer service, sales, leadership or training.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
