As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Housekeeping Manager who thrives on building exceptional teams, dialing in operational systems, and ensuring every property is guest-ready and 5-star worthy, every time. About the Role The Housekeeping Manager leads our in-house cleaning operations across our growing portfolio of vacation rentals. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines team building, operational ownership, quality control, and vendor management. You'll own everything — building and training an exceptional team, creating efficient turnover systems, and ensuring every property meets our standard. You won't be managing from a desk. You'll be on the ground setting the standard, solving real-time problems, and building the culture and processes that make every guest's first impression unforgettable. What You'll Do Lead, Train, and Develop the Team Lead, schedule, and develop a team of housekeepers and inspectors to deliver consistent 5-star results across all properties Recruit, hire, onboard, and evaluate housekeeping staff; build a reliable, high-performing crew Develop and maintain property-specific cleaning checklists, SOPs, and onboarding materials for team members Set the culture of accountability, pride, and ownership across the housekeeping team Manage Turnovers and Quality Control Manage and optimize turnover schedules to ensure every property is cleaned, inspected, and fully guest-ready on time — including same-day turnovers Conduct thorough property inspections after each clean, verifying quality standards, supply levels, and overall presentation Respond quickly to guest or owner feedback related to cleanliness, coordinating corrective action when needed Own Inventory and Vendor Relationships Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, toiletries, and guest amenities across the portfolio Coordinate restocking and vendor orders Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, laundry services, and other vendor partners Track Performance and Support Growth Track and report on inspection results, staff performance, expenses, and supply usage Partner with operations leadership on new property onboarding and ongoing quality improvement initiatives Identify opportunities to continuously improve turnover speed, cost efficiency, and guest experience What Success Looks Like In this role, success means: Every property is consistently cleaned, inspected, and guest-ready to a 5-star standard Turnover schedules run smoothly, including same-day turnovers The housekeeping team is reliable, high-performing, and held to a clear standard Guests and owners are delighted with cleanliness and property presentation Supply, vendor, and budget operations run efficiently and predictably New properties are onboarded smoothly into the housekeeping program What We're Looking For 3+ years of housekeeping management experience in vacation rentals, hotels, or hospitality Proven ability to lead, train, and hold a team accountable to high standards Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple properties and fast-moving schedules Clear communicator with staff, vendors, and leadership Proficiency with property management or task-management software (Breezeway, Turno, or similar) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Availability on weekends and holidays Solutions-oriented mindset; calm and effective under pressure Self-starter who takes initiative without needing to be directed Passion for building and growing teams; you thrive on developing people and creating a culture others want to be part of Direct experience in short-term vacation rental operations is a plus Familiarity with Airbnb and VRBO cleanliness and guest experience standards is a plus Track record of building and scaling a housekeeping team is a plus Experience managing supply budgets and vendor contracts is a plus Bilingual in English and Spanish is a strong asset Background in quality control or luxury hospitality is a plus Why Join Joseph Ellen Properties?
