Risk Management Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claims Lead to oversee complex, lost‑time, and litigated claims while serving as the organization’s internal subject matter expert . This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate claim handling, regulatory compliance, and high‑quality performance from third‑party administrators (TPAs).
What You’ll Do
- Lead Complex Claims — Manage the full lifecycle of lost‑time and high‑severity Workers’ Compensation claims with accuracy and compliance.
- Serve as SME — Provide internal guidance on best practices, regulatory requirements, and strategic claim direction.
- Oversee TPA Performance — Conduct audits, evaluate quality, and identify opportunities to improve outcomes and reduce costs.
- Manage Litigated Claims — Direct high‑risk, litigated files with significant exposure and settlement authority.
- Partner With Legal — Collaborate with counsel to develop case strategies, set reserves, and drive favorable resolutions.
- Drive Cost Containment — Identify opportunities to reduce claim costs while maintaining compliance and quality.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance — Uphold state and federal requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
What You Bring
- 2 years of college or specialized training
- 3+ years of Workers’ Compensation claims experience (lost‑time or litigated preferred)
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Commitment to excellent customer service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Word, Excel, Outlook)
