Job Description Senior Controls Engineer – onsite in Holland, MI What We Offer Competitive wages, medical benefits starting your first day, and paid parental leave Opportunity to work on unique, custom automation projects A collaborative, engineering-driven environment Career growth and skill development opportunities A role where craftsmanship and quality truly matter How You’ll Make an Impact Develop and design control software packages using PLC and/or HMI Examine and understand customer‑supplied specifications to ensure equipment functionality meets requirements Ensure equipment startup and commissioning operate per approved specifications Program robotic and/or controls equipment per customer specifications Perform preventative maintenance as requested to minimize downtime and optimize machine operation Assist in checking design and details for proper functionality of both your work and that of other engineers Provide timely, required service documentation for all performed functions Provide technical support and training to end‑users at customer facilities Maintain industry benchmarks for quality and performance of products and services Demonstrate safe work practices on JR Automation premises or at customer sites Other duties as assigned What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or technical diploma equivalent (Bachelor’s preferred) Intermediate understanding of electrical circuits, panel design, pneumatic and hydraulic design, PLCs, HMIs, robot programming, VFDs, servo applications, and device communication networks (DNET, ENET, Profibus) 4+ years of related experience Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer sites and other JR locations Professional communication skills; ability to maintain positive customer relationships under challenging circumstances Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry, is strongly preferred Additional Requirements Must successfully complete a 10‑panel drug screen, a physical examination, and a background check Equal Opportunity Employer JR Automation is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) – Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities. #J-18808-Ljbffr
