About the Position

Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – Tennessee

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Location: Nashville, Tennessee

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36-bed unit; 1:4 or 1:5 patient ratios; 4 weekend shifts per 4-week block; may float over core staff

Highlights:

• Medical-surgical unit specializing in post-operative care including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs
• Experience with tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, stroke, seizure patients; some patients require dialysis or PCA pumps
• Heparin drips; peritoneal dialysis cyclers and Alaris IV pumps utilized; Meditech documentation system
• Strong unit support with secretary coverage daily and PRN techs; experienced charge nurses and responsive leadership
• Patient experience focus on bedside shift report, frequent safety checks, communication, and responsiveness
• Collaborative, energetic team environment with supportive leadership and equal accountability standards

Requirements:

• Active Tennessee RN license or eligibility for compact licensure
• Current BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Medical-surgical nursing experience with ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments
• Proficiency in wound care, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, and chest tube management
• Experience with post-operative patient care and stroke/seizure management
