Safety Coordinator – Commercial Electrical Construction

Location: Baltimore, MD
Employment Type: Full-Time (Local Position)
Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually (based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Safety Coordinator to join a growing electrical contractor supporting large-scale commercial construction projects in the Baltimore, MD area. This is a full-time, local position and is intended for candidates who already reside in or near the Baltimore area. No per diem or travel assistance is offered , as this is not a traveling role.

This opportunity is ideal for a safety professional with 1–3 years of construction safety experience who is passionate about promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

The Safety Coordinator will work closely with project management and field personnel to help maintain a safe work environment through inspections, training, documentation, and ongoing safety support.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and audits.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Assist with new hire safety orientations and ongoing safety training.
• Participate in accident, incident, and near-miss investigations and prepare reports.
• Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain safety documentation, reports, and project records.
• Monitor PPE compliance and safe work practices.
• Work with field leadership to promote a proactive safety culture.
• Lead and participate in toolbox talks and other safety meetings.
• Support project teams with safety planning and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of construction safety experience required.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial construction projects.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Experience with an electrical contractor or on electrical construction projects is highly preferred.
