About the Position Under the direction of the Associate Director of Risk & Underwriting, the Risk Analyst, II is responsible for the oversight of merchant accounts to identify, investigate and mitigate activity that represents financial risk to the Company based on Company guidelines. The Risk Analyst supports the Risk department’s function in protecting the Company against the risk of loss associated with providing products/services for customers. Responsibilities Conduct daily, weekly, monthly reviews of merchant activity and analyze for increased credit risk, transactional variations, dispute activity, and fraud patterns. Proactively monitor all merchant activities for compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies. Investigate abnormal processing patterns and recommend appropriate actions. Review and analyze financial, credit and publicly available information to support actions and decisions. Assess and evaluate business model risk and exposure by evaluating merchant industry type, processing volume, refunds volume, delivery time frames and disputes. Analyze risk files of multiple high-risk verticals spreads, to evaluate, investigate and determine action. Answer internal and external inquiries specific to risk. Qualifications Experience with high-risk payment processing preferred. Knowledge of Card Brand rules and regulations required. Must have prior experience and use of Aperia risk monitoring tool, Vigilance. High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred. 3-5 years of experience in Risk Management within the acquiring industry. Proficiency with MS Office Suite products with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with various tools used for underwriting and due diligence (i.e. Equifax, TIN Check, Aperia, Vigilance, MATCH, GIACT, Merlink, etc.). Familiar with systems/platform utilized by companies Fiserv and REPAY. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of emerging technologies and trends in the payments space and their associated risks. Excellent time management. Ability to analyze, test, assess and/or interpret information or data to make recommendations to enhance business operations. Possesses strong analytical and research skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to work autonomously while producing a high output of quality work.
