Job Title: Staff RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse (PACU) Duration: 8 Shift: 9am - 5:30pm Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid nursing license Certifications: CPR required Must-Have: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; critical thinking skills; ability to handle multiple priorities; independent decision-making Description: The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process. Accepts responsibility for the direction of co-workers and the delegation of role-appropriate tasks in the implementation of care. Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Implements physician orders as written and assures equipment and supplies are available for patient care. The position requires heavy physical demand, including the ability to exert significant force to move objects. Regulates emotions and exercises self-control in urgent situations. Communicates empathically with patients and demonstrates genuine care and concern for their welfare. Supervises and directs the work of nursing assistants in a professional manner. May experience stress related to time management challenges and working with individuals in various states of distress. Requires intact cognitive function in attention, memory, perception, and thought. Prioritizes work tasks when multiple issues need attention and possesses keen observation and accurate reporting skills. Strong organization, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills are needed.
