Pediatric Infectious Diseases (PIDs) Subspecialty Faculty Baylor Scott & White (BSW) McLane Children’s Medical Center, Temple, Texas. Opportunity: Full-time/part-time, BC/BE, fellowship trained Pediatric Infectious Diseases subspecialist. Join two full-time Board Certified Pediatric ID subspecialists in the Division of Subspecialty Pediatrics, Department of Pediatrics. Position Overview Provide direct consultation and follow-up care inpatient, outpatient, telemedicine, outreach clinics. Teach residents, fellows, medical students. Involved in patient care, teaching, clinical vaccinology research, antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention & control, and administration. Choose full/part-time clinical and teaching position or part-time research at BSWH Center for Research in Vaccines and Infections. Clinical Responsibilities and Coverage Consulting service 24‑7 all year with up to 2.05 FTE clinical PIDs subspecialists covering inpatient floors, PICU, NICU, outpatient consulting, and follow‑up services. Shared weekend PIDs inpatient/ED service coverage at least 17‑18 weekends per year. Educate pediatric residents, neonatology and pediatric hospital medicine fellows, medical students, pharmacists, nursing, and physician extenders at bedside and in lectures, journal clubs, critical‑thinking rounds, and grand rounds. Full/part‑time clinical based position with teaching of residents on the Pedi ID rotation, part‑time clinical research and service on departmental or system committees. Qualifications Doctorate Degree in Medicine. Licensed to practice medicine in Texas. Board Certified in Pediatric Infectious Diseases or demonstrate board eligibility of the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists.
