Commissioning Project Manager

Job Category: New Building Commissioning Services Schedule: Full Time Job Location Type: Hybrid or Remote depending on location Cx Project Manager holds overall responsibility for assigned projects of low to medium scope and complexity. Duties include planning and executing a specific project plan, delivering quality products and services to the client in a timely manner, managing project financials, and serving as the primary contact between the Bath Group project team and the client. The Cx Project Manager ensures that projects are executed according to the plan and is responsible for the results of assigned projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Completes the project scope and requirements with the client and other stakeholders and communicates project scope and requirements to the project team Prepares and implements a proactive Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan for projects Oversees the profitability of the project by negotiating fees and contracts as may be appropriate, participating in the budgeting process, and ensuring that invoices are accurate and delivered in a timely manner Identifies, negotiates, and administers fees for additional services Schedules work, communicates schedule information to the project team, and monitors manpower requirements Facilitates communication between the client and the project team; documents important issues Coordinates activities of the project team and contractors during the design and construction phases Performs project job site visits to investigate field conditions, monitor progress, and ensure conformance to design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes during construction Performs specific engineering studies and other design analyses using industry software Coordinates with other disciplines to determine equipment needs, implement operating procedures, and provide technical information Monitors accounts receivables on projects and initiates corrective action as needed Supervises the job close out process to ensure documentation, lessons learned, and filings are complete May participate in planning and budgeting processes, which includes preparing monthly billing projections and budget metrics as required by management May assist management in the training and mentoring of less experienced colleagues within the Cx group KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS KNOWLEDGE Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) software Knowledge of project approach and systems design Knowledge of the engineering discipline of his/her expertise Knowledge of building codes and regulations Knowledge of construction procurement and design development processes General knowledge of accounting and how to create and maintain budgets SKILLS AND ABILITIES Comprehension – ability to understand information, ideas, and direction presented in writing and/or verbally communicated Written Communication Skills – ability to clearly deliver a message through written words using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation Speech Clarity – ability to speak clearly and in a common language so that others can understand you Detail-Oriented – ability to achieve accuracy and thoroughness when accomplishing a task; pays attention to details and is able to understand the cause of a certain outcome Judgement and Decision-Making Skills – ability to make reasoned judgments that are logical and well thought out; constructively questioning and analyzing information in order to make the best conclusion Technical Writing Skills – skilled in the area of summarizing or explaining technical information in a clear, concise, and accurate way, communicating the point intended Presentation Skills – effective in a variety of presentation settings both inside and outside the organization; commands attention and can manage group processes during the presentation; can change tactics midstream when something isn’t working MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field Ten years related project experience Professional Engineer Licensure preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
