Maintenance Technician

The Technician will be responsible for diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment and completing necessary preventive maintenance and repairs. The role involves rebuilding various plant and process equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and other related equipment. Additionally, the Technician will repair, rebuild, and replace hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, understand flow controls, and possess both mechanical and electrical inclinations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plant and process equipment.
• Rebuild pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and other related equipment.
• Repair and replace hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Understand flow controls and demonstrate mechanical and electrical inclinations.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and repair services.
• Skilled in using tools like multimeter and voltmeter.
• Knowledge of industrial, food, and electronics systems.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Comfortable standing, walking, and climbing stairs for long periods.
• Proficiency in English reading and writing.
• High level of welding, electrical, or mechanical skills is a plus.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as plant and business needs arise.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ownership of personal tools.
• Experience with PLC and Allen Bradley systems.

Work Environment

The work schedule is a rotating shift with hours from 6pm to 6am, including rotating days off, which may include long weekends. The environment can vary from hot to cold in different areas of the facility. There is an additional shift differential for working from 6pm to 6am. The role requires flexibility to work various shifts as plant and business needs arise.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Las Cruces, NM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.93 - $30.40/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
