Job Title Driver Education Instructor - MVA Licensed and Certified Position Category: Adjunct Faculty/Part-time Instructor Starting salary/rate: $34.34 per class hour, paid on contract assignment Job Description HCC's Workforce and Continuing Education Division seeks MVA Licensed and Certified Driving Instructors. Classes are 10 weeks, meeting for three hours per week, staffed entirely in classroom instruction. Instructors may teach on campus or at off‑site locations such as APG; off‑site teaching requires adherence to host site COVID‑19 protocols. Instructors must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia, with non‑residents expected to relocate to meet this requirement. Responsibilities Teach driver education classes over a 10‑week period with three hours of instruction per week. Prepare and deliver instructional materials, ensuring student learning objectives are achieved. Maintain accurate, timely records of student attendance and progress. Follow institutional policies, including COVID‑19 protocols for off‑site locations. Required Education MVA Licensed and Certified Driving Instructor. Required Experience One year of teaching experience with youth and adults. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Age 21 years or older. Good driving record. Valid MVA driving instructor license. Knowledge of Maryland MVA driver‑education requirements. Preferred Qualifications Expertise in the field of study for the instructional assignment, including any certification or degree required to deliver instruction to meet required student outcomes. General Weekly Work Schedule Several sections of driver education classes are being offered, each for 10 weeks, three hours per week. Schedule will be determined by the supervisor.
