Investigate facts and law of cases and search pertinent sources, such as public records and internet sources, to prepare cases.Essential FunctionsPrepare and maintain legal documents.Research relevant legal materials to aid decision-making.Confer with legal staff to clarify information.Meet with individuals involved in legal processes to provide information and clarify issues.Evaluate information related to legal matters in public or personal records.Coordinate legal schedules or activities.QualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree requiredExperienceAt least 3-5 years of experience working at a health plan or law office requiredPrior paralegal experience at a health plan highly preferredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesUnderstanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documentsCommunicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audienceKnowledge of administrative and office procedures and systemsKnowledge of the structure and content of the English languageKnowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political processKnowledge of computer hardware and applications including proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and AccessAdditional Job Details (if applicable)Working ConditionsThis is a hybrid role that requires an on-site presence at the office in Assembly Row, Somerville at least once per monthMonday through Friday, eastern business hours requiredRemote workdays require a stable, secure, quiet, and HIPAA-compliant workspace.
