Asbestos Legal Assistant

Location: New York, NY

Schedule: Full-Time, In-Office

A nationally recognized, class-action law firm is seeking an experienced Asbestos Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support attorneys handling asbestos and product liability litigation. This position will assist with cases from inception through trial and is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Manage asbestos litigation matters from initiation through completion
\n
• Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents
\n
• Conduct investigative research and gather case-related information
\n
• Obtain, review, and summarize medical, legal, and other records
\n
• Maintain electronic and physical case files and calendars
\n
• Communicate with clients, attorneys, family members, vendors, and other outside parties
\n
• Manage case-related data, materials, and administrative tasks
\n
• Support attorneys in meeting deadlines and resolving case-related issues
\n

\n

Qualifications:

\n

\n
• 3+ years of experience in asbestos litigation, personal injury, medical malpractice, or other plaintiff-side civil litigation
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
\n
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
\n
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and multiple deadlines
\n
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
\n
• Dependable, proactive, and comfortable working independently
