Sr. Systems AdministratorIndianapolis, INJob DescriptionCSCI Consulting is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support the administration, maintenance, and optimization of a complex Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) environment. The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the availability, security, performance, and reliability of Linux, Windows Server, VMware, and cloud-based infrastructure platforms. In this role, you will partner with infrastructure teams, enterprise architects, application support personnel, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available technology solutions while supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.ResponsibilitiesAdminister and support enterprise infrastructure environments, including VMware virtual machines, Oracle Linux, and Microsoft Windows Server operating systemsTroubleshoot and resolve complex server, infrastructure, and application issues independently and within established service level agreementsInstall, configure, maintain, and support Microsoft Active Directory Services infrastructureManage and maintain Salesforce-related user accounts and access controlsMonitor platform performance, capacity, utilization, and overall system health to maximize availability and reliabilityAdminister DHCP, DNS, IIS, sFTP, and other critical infrastructure servicesSupport and manage cloud-hosted and virtualized infrastructure environmentsCollaborate with Enterprise Architecture and cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutionsMaintain server hardware and software inventories, configurations, and technical documentationParticipate in database design, implementation, and support activitiesImplement and enforce security standards, policies, and procedures across infrastructure environmentsManage Windows Server security configurations, vulnerability remediation, and patch management activitiesProvision and administer user accounts, credentials, permissions, and access controlsSupport web portals, middleware platforms, infrastructure applications, APIs, monitoring solutions, and network servicesFacilitate deployment of application updates, enhancements, and infrastructure changes across environmentsDevelop recommendations for operational improvements and infrastructure optimizationSupport incident management activities, including root cause analysis and service restoration effortsMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve backup failures and disaster recovery issuesRespond to infrastructure monitoring alerts and performance concernsManage and resolve customer support tickets, requests, and escalated technical issuesParticipate in an on-call rotation supporting critical business systems during evenings, weekends, and holidaysContribute to system architecture planning, infrastructure modernization, and cloud adoption initiativesDevelop and maintain operational procedures, configuration standards, and disaster recovery documentationMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience5+ years of experience administering and supporting enterprise server environments in productionStrong experience with Oracle Linux and Microsoft Windows Server operating systemsExperience administering and supporting VMware vSphere and virtualized infrastructure environmentsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory ServicesWorking knowledge of SQL scripting and database conceptsExperience supporting DHCP, DNS, IIS, sFTP, and related infrastructure servicesKnowledge of NAS and SAN storage technologies and connectivity conceptsUnderstanding of domain and forest administration, networking fundamentals, and routing/switching conceptsExperience with performance monitoring, tuning, capacity planning, and system optimizationBasic to intermediate proficiency with shell scripting and automationExperience troubleshooting server, application, and infrastructure issues in production environmentsAbility to design, document, and support enterprise infrastructure solutionsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsAbility to gather, interpret, document, and evaluate technical requirementsExperience communicating technical
