Within the public health setting, students may participate in activities related to population health, medication safety, health promotion and disease prevention, evidence-based information, interprofessional collaboration, pharmacy operations, and other site-specific public health activities.The internship emphasizes the development of clinical exposure, public health understanding, and health care systems-informed-decision-making, preparing the intern for future roles in population healthcare and leadership. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to how pharmacy services support patient care, disease prevention, and health system operations. Additionally, the experience includes structured engagement with state, district, and county health operations to understand how public health initiatives are coordinated, researched, and implemented across systems supporting both clinical and research career trajectories.Minimum qualification: Must be enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program at school or college of pharmacy. Hours per week & duration: 10 - 20 hours per week for up to 10 weeksEmployment Information: State of Georgia employees are subject to the rules of the State Personnel Board regarding salary. DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) as valid.
