Medical AssistantThe Medical Assistant (MA) is an essential member of the clinical team in a fast-paced podiatry practice, supporting providers in delivering high-quality patient care. This position is part of a structured Tiered Medical Assistant Program designed to strengthen clinical skills, promote professional development, and support long-term career growth while ensuring consistency and efficiency across all clinic locations.We are seeking a motivated Medical Assistant to join our team. This role offers increasing levels of responsibility over time through a defined MA Tier structure, based on skill, experience, performance, and demonstrated competencies.Medical Assistants are assigned to Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 and may advance or be reassigned through formal performance evaluations and ongoing managerial review.MA Tier Program PurposeThe MA Tier Program is designed to:Standardize Medical Assistant responsibilities across the organizationImprove consistency and efficiency in patient care deliverySupport structured career growth and skill advancementEnsure accountability through measurable performance expectationsEnhance patient experience and clinical outcomes in podiatry careCore Responsibilities (All MA Levels)Participate in morning clinical huddlesPrepare, stock, clean, and sanitize exam rooms and equipmentUpdate patient schedules, room assignments, and visit status in real timeNavigate electronic medical records (EMR), including encounters, notes, and documentsEnter patient histories (HPI), past medical history, medication reconciliation, and vital signsCommunicate physician orders and provide patient education materialsPrepare work/school notes, letters, and clinical documentationObtain informed consent for procedures and durable medical equipment (DME)Notify appropriate staff of OTC product or DME purchasesComplete requisitions for labs, pathology, imaging, and referralsClean and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocolsMaintain communication with providers and clinical team membersTrack and manage inventory and supply flowPerform Diabetic Foot ExamsParticipate in clinical testing programs (e.g., QuantaFlo, Safe Balance) when availablePerformance Evaluation and AdvancementPerformance evaluations are conducted annually, with monthly check-ins between the MA and manager.Evaluations assess clinical competency, productivity, communication, and adherence to policiesAdvancement or reassignment between tiers is based on demonstrated performance and skill masteryEmployees on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) or disciplinary action are not eligible for advancement or pay increases during that periodFailure to meet tier expectations may result in reassignment to a lower tier and adjustment of compensation to the initial program levelBonus Compensation ProgramAll Medical Assistants are eligible to participate in the OTC Bonus Program and may earn additional compensation for qualifying sales:Compliance ExpectationsAll Medical Assistants are expected to:Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control guidelinesMaintain strict patient confidentialityAdhere to clinical safety protocols and scope of practiceComply with all organizational policies and proceduresBenefits401(k)AD&D insuranceHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceDisability insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time off
