Operations Service Team Technician

Operations Service Team (OST) Technicians are Amazon's front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical operations and troubleshooting. They maintain, operate, troubleshoot, and repair Data Center Operation's Mission Critical Facilities, which includes stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, 3 phase electrical systems that include but not limited to switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, wet cell batteries and associated systems, CRAC, air handlers and associated systems, pumps, & motors. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. Key job responsibilities include performing maintenance and repair tasks to HVAC equipment, operating and maintaining mechanical, electrical, generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center, troubleshooting facility equipment within internal SLAs, providing support to Data Center Operations technicians, performing root cause analysis of equipment failures, ensuring all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work, writing procedures, utilizing internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventory, supervising contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance, responding to off hour emergency calls per on call rotation for any one of the region's sites, fully complying with all physical security procedures and policies, driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities, and manipulating small wires and objects. The technician will perform the following tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation: walk job sites in uneven terrain, work at heights and from ladders, regularly lift and/or move up to 39 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 40 pounds or more, bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working, push or pull heavy objects into position, and work in noisy environments.

Basic Qualifications: 2+ years of relevant work experience, experience in relevant work, can bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working, can use hands to manipulate small wires and objects, can walk on job sites in uneven terrain, can work at heights and from ladders.

Preferred Qualifications: 4+ years of data center engineering experience, bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/ fiber) cabling, experience in data center engineering, can perform physical tasks all day without becoming overly tired.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
