The operator is responsible for productivity, cutting quality, and minimizing knife waste.Educational requirements:High school diploma or GEDSkills and experience:Previous experience in carpet manufacturing preferredGood communication skills, written and verbalBasic math skills requiredSome leadership experience.Essential duties:Operate control panel for the knifeKeep carpet lined up and running squarely into press.Maintain quality of cutsSend tiles to quality lab to ensure that tile sizes are within specificationsCall out all color changes to alert inspectors and boxers that a new run is startingComplete production paperwork for the shiftMust have detailed knowledge of all jobs on the cutting line.Assume leadership role during critical times or when Supervisor is away from the lineWork with maintenance staff to change knife or resolve quality issues related to cutting lineMaintain housekeepingComply with safety rulesComply with environmental regulationsBe aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)Ensure ISO procedures are followed.Understand and support Interface commitment to sustainability.Perform other duties as assignedPhysical demands:Standing thoughout 8-10 hour shiftLifting 50-60 poundsCorrected 20/20 visionWork environment:Non-climate controlled manufacturing environment.#LI-AS1#LI-OnsiteLearn more about Interface (NASDAQ: TILE) and our brands at interface.com and FLOR.com.
