Emergency Veterinary Technician Caregiver

Our mission at Avets is to provide state of the art medicine and compassionate care for pets and the people who love them.

We are looking for full-time Emergency Veterinary Technician Caregivers to join our team. If you're looking to advance your skill set and work in a fast-paced environment where every day looks different, we want to work with you!

Avets operates as a whole hospital team, offering opportunities to train and work with both specialty and emergency veterinarians. We pair new hires with a mentor to guide them through their introductory period. This is a full-time , hourly position, working either 3 twelve hour shifts or 4 ten hour shifts per week , inclusive of one shift per weekend and a portion of the holidays.

Compensation:

• Dependent on experience, will be discussed during interview process
• Shift differentials available!
• • $2/hr after 6pm on weekdays and weekend day shift
  • $3.50/hr after 6pm on Friday and Saturday

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to:

• Follow a structured training program.
• Remain calm and efficient in a high stress environment; be adaptable and overcome challenging situations!
• Provide excellent customer service and interact with clients in a manner that supports Avets' mission to provide state of the art medicine and compassionate care for pets and the people who love them.
• Work with fellow team members to maintain a productive, positive and respectful environment. All technical staff, regardless of the level of experience, must be able to stand, bend, lift, and/or kneel for the duration of a shift (12 hours), and lift a minimum of twenty five pounds.
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.

Prior emergency experience preferred, but not required. Certified Veterinary Technicians or license eligible candidates will be given the highest consideration.
