Diesel Mechanic Technician

Benefits Hourly Pay: $26.50 per hour Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification obtained, up to $700 Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year) Sign On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends OFF Hours: Second Shift 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm Medical, dental, vision after 30 days 80 hours PTO your first year, starting Day 1 Yearly merit pay increases 401(k) company match PPE, uniforms, and boot allowance Paid training to build your skills Safety‑first workplace & state‑of‑the‑art equipment Top Tech Competition: $250 – $50,000 per year U.S. military veterans extra paid day off 15% company stock discount Up to $5,000 in tech tuition repayment 12 weeks paid maternity leave (subject to eligibility) Employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, tech & more Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or technical certifications (preferred) Basic tools are required Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gasoline or diesel engines, including: Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work, required) Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience (preferred) Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A (preferred) Hiring & Screening Requirements Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire Pass a Ryder drug test Pass a DOT physical Pass a Ryder road test Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years Responsibilities Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties Perform standard vehicle maintenance Conduct standard component inspections and repairs Perform preventive maintenance Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable Identify root causes of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required Replace defective components as instructed Perform facility maintenance duties Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once a task is assigned Utilize key functions of the shop management system and electronic documentation available Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT) Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including service island support Ryder is proud to be an equal‑opportunity employer and a drug‑free workplace.
