Job Overview As a Kroger Deli Clerk, you will create an outstanding customer experience by providing exceptional service, maintain a safe and clean environment, assist in achieving sales and profit goals, and uphold Kroger’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Responsibilities Prepare food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars as per customer requests. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes, using kitchen equipment such as fryers and slicers. Ensure all deli items are labeled, dated, covered, rotated and monitored for quality and freshness. Maintain knowledge of products sold in the deli department and answer questions or make suggestions to customers. Provide excellent customer service, address needs in a timely manner, and apply suggestive selling techniques. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines. Perform essential functions of the position and other duties as assigned by store leadership. Qualifications Outstanding customer service skills. Desire to learn food production and basic cooking techniques. Effective communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team. Strong work ethic, ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with urgency. Good basic math skills. Current food handlers permit upon employment.
