Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active IL license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Strong Neuro Skills Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a rehabilitation setting. The unit has 29 beds. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 5:1 for days and 6:1 for nights. Common patient diagnoses include neurological conditions, neurosurgery, amputations, multi-trauma, cardiac issues, and complex medical cases. Nurses are required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehabilitation. This unit utilizes tele packs, but the RN is not required to monitor. Nurse aides are present on the unit with a ratio of 1:9 or 1:10. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy services are provided. Equipment used includes CPAP and BiPAP, primarily for sleep apnea. There is a weekend requirement with shifts scheduled every other weekend. Nurses may be required to float to other units as needed. Scrub color is flexible, but t-shirts are not allowed unless approved. The charting system used is EPIC.
