Full-Time Faculty Social Media College of Arts and Media

Overview Grand Canyon University (GCU) is a private, accredited institution located in Phoenix, Arizona. The College of Fine Arts and Production seeks a full‑time faculty member for the Social Media degree to teach content creation and related disciplines. Position type: Full‑time, 9‑month faculty position. Start date: August 10, 2020. Responsibilities Equipping students with skill sets and preparing them to be successful leaders. Prepare and deliver lectures and demonstrations to undergraduate students within the prescribed curriculum. Stimulate class discussions and facilitate learning in both on‑ground and online classroom settings. Assess student performance in accordance with University Assessment Practices. Remain current in the field of social media and effective teaching techniques. Maintain a four‑course teaching load each semester. Participate in faculty and college/university committee activities. Perform other duties as directed by the Dean, centered on teaching, service, and scholarship. Support the integrity of the GCU mission and educational learning outcomes within the Christian university. Qualifications Preferred: MFA in graphic design, advertising, copywriting, public relations, multi‑media, marketing, or related discipline. 3+ years documented industry experience. Experience in strategy, concept, and implementation of advertising and marketing campaigns. Direct client‑facing experience working with brands other than your own. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Hootsuite, HubSpot, Facebook, Instagram, Google Analytics, or similar applications. Documented experience creating visual, written, photographic, and video content for multiple social and digital media vehicles. Experience building, maintaining, listening, and managing social media communities. Experience working with marketing teams, agencies or clients. Excellent writing and communication skills, including for copywriting and presentations. Minimum: MA or related graduate degree. Post‑secondary experience teaching design or related content creation courses. Required: Submit a digital portfolio with 5–8 case studies of social media campaigns you created, including business problem, goals, strategy, design process, tools used, and final campaign deliverables.
