Love Fashion, Eyewear & Helping People Look Their Best?

VIEW Optometry is looking for an outgoing, style-conscious, customer-focused Optical Stylist & Eyewear Consultant to join our Temple team.

This is much more than simply helping someone pick out a pair of glasses. You'll help patients find eyewear that complements their personal style, prescription, lifestyle, and budget while educating them about lens options and creating an exceptional buying experience.

Optical experience is a plus—but we'll train the right person.

If you have a strong retail, fashion, luxury sales, jewelry, beauty, hospitality, or customer-service background and enjoy helping people, we'd like to meet you.

About VIEW Optometry:

VIEW Optometry is a privately owned, independent optometry practice serving Central Texas, with established locations in Temple, Killeen, and Salado.

We're committed to providing outstanding eye care, exceptional optical products, and a patient experience that feels personal—not corporate.

Our workplace offers:

• Modern office environment
• Hands-on training
• Professional development
• Growth opportunities
• Locally owned, independent practice
• Opportunity to build a long-term career in optical

What You'll Do:

• Help Patients Find Eyewear They Love
• You'll guide patients through the eyewear-selection process from beginning to end.

Responsibilities include:

• Help patients select fashion, designer, and luxury eyewear
• Recommend frames based on face shape, personal style, prescription, lifestyle, and budget
• Educate patients about lens options, materials, coatings, and upgrades
• Assist patients in selecting appropriate lenses
• Explain the benefits of different optical products
• Educate patients about proper eyewear and contact-lens care
• Provide information about vision plans and insurance benefits
• Complete patient transactions accurately
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Coordinate with doctors and other team members regarding patient care
• Maintain attractive, organized frame displays
• Keep the optical area clean, organized, and welcoming
• Assist wherever needed to create an outstanding patient experience
• Sales Without the High-Pressure Approach

We want someone who understands how to sell through education, trust, product knowledge, and great service.

You'll help patients understand their options and confidently choose products that meet their needs.

We're especially interested in candidates with experience in:

• Optical sales
• Fashion or luxury retail
• Jewelry
• Beauty or cosmetics
• High-end retail
• Consultative sales
• Customer service
• At least 1 year of sales experience is required.

What We're Looking For:

• 1+ year of sales experience required
• Previous optician or optical experience is a plus, but not required
• Strong sense of style and attention to detail
• Comfortable recommending products and upgrades
• Excellent customer-service skills
• Friendly, confident, and professional communication
• Ability to learn optical products and terminology
• Strong organizational skills
• Comfortable working with computers and patient records
• Ability to multitask while giving patients personalized attention
• Dependable and self-motivated
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Driver's license preferred
• Willingness to occasionally assist at another VIEW location when needed

Compensation & Performance Bonus:

• $17.00–$20.00 per hour
• Eligible employees can earn up to $5,000 in performance bonuses annually, paid monthly when established KPIs are met or exceeded.

Paid Time Off:

• During Year of Hire: up to 10 PTO days, prorated based on start date during the calendar year
• During First Full Calendar Year: 10 PTO days
• After Completion of First Full Full Calendar Year: 15 PTO days each year
• After Completion of Ninth Full Calendar Year: 20 PTO days each year
• Holidays:  6 Paid Holidays
  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • July 4th
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
  • The office is also closed on Black Friday and Christmas Eve.
• PTO black-out days apply during key business seasons (Back-to-School, Winter Holidays)

Employee Eye-Care Benefits:

After completing the 90-day probationary period, eligible employees receive:

• 100% discount on eligible professional services
• $1,000 annual Vision Care Allowance toward qualifying frames, lenses, contact lenses, or non-prescription sunglasses
• 50% employee discount on qualifying purchases above the $1,000 allowance

Vision benefits are for the employee's personal use and subject to the practice's benefit guidelines.

Why This Could Be a Great Fit:

You don't necessarily need years of optical experience to succeed here.

If you're someone who can look at a patient and say, “I know exactly which frames you should try,” enjoys fashion and style, loves working with people, and has the confidence to make recommendations and close a sale, we can teach you the optical side.

Bring us your personality, sales ability, attention to detail, and desire to learn.

We'll help you build the optical knowledge.

Join a locally owned, independent practice where you can build relationships with patients, develop valuable optical skills, and grow with the company.
