Utility Technician

Overview South Central Power Company, Ohio’s largest electric cooperative, has an immediate opening for a Utility Technician at our Lancaster, Ohio location. Applicants must be comfortable working with computers and other technical equipment. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, with the ability to deal with employees, members and the general public in a courteous and proper manner. What you’ll be doing Perform functions related to single phase and three phase metering such as reading, installing, programming, disconnects, reconnects, collections and performing testing and diagnostics on equipment and meters. Perform troubleshooting, restoration, and maintenance on 600-volt services and equipment. Perform technical work related to SCADA, AMI and electronic field equipment as well as installation of Generlink generators. Act as a flagger, truck driver, and serve as a backup to the Warehouse Worker when needed. What the job requires Valid class B Driver’s License and ability to withstand adverse weather and environmental conditions. High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one year’s experience in a related field. Must be qualified to perform energized work up to 600 volts.
