School Administrative Office Clerk

Facilitate the efficient operation of the school administrative office and provide clerical services for the school's administrative staff. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

Education/Certification/Licensure

• High School diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient computer, typing and word processing skills
• Strong organizational and file management skills
• Knowledge of basic accounting

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years secretarial experience preferably in a public education environment

Major Responsibilities and Duties

1. Perform usual office routines and practices associated with a productive office (e.g. correspondence, telephone, scheduling, mail distribution, etc.)
2. Exercise good telephone etiquette, take reliable messages, and route messages to appropriate staff.
3. Assist associate principal, students, teachers, and parents as needed.
4. Prepare weekly time log.
5. Maintain petty cash fund and records and make deposits.
6. Responsible for payments made by parents and students for fees, books, fines, etc.
7. Order, receive, store and issue office supplies; oversee operation and maintenance of office machines.
8. Interact with truant officer regarding student attendance.
9. Maintain a daily teacher attendance log and records for substitute teachers including report for payroll.
10. Maintain proper files to include inventory of school supplies, mailing lists, student records, visitor logs, and office communications.
11. Sort, distribute, or deliver mail and other documents.
12. Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for associate principal.
13. Enter on computer requests for maintenance work.

22. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
23. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
24. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
25. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
26. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
27. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
