Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a difference in the lives of young learners as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher in a supportive, inclusive setting. This contract role offers both full-time (1.0 FTE) and part-time (.5 FTE) opportunities, working with self-contained groups of 6-8 students, each classroom aided by two full-time paraeducators. The position is situated in a dynamic early childhood program, engaging with children who benefit from specialized support and an individualized approach to education.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current MDE Early Childhood Special Education teaching license (required)
  • Experience or strong interest in working with early childhood populations in special education settings
  • Collaborative mindset for working closely with a team of educators and paraeducators
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing paperwork, IEP meetings, and individualized programming
  • Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues

Role Overview:

  • Provide instruction to two designated groups: one in the mornings and one in the afternoons, Tuesday through Friday
  • Teach within self-contained classrooms, utilizing support from two dedicated paraeducators
  • Participate in paperwork completion, meetings, and as a float substitute within the program on Mondays
  • For part-time roles, enjoy flexible scheduling options, with the possibility for expansion to full-time
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
  • Foster a positive, structured learning environment and promote each child’s growth and development
