Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, ensuring adherence to AWHONN standards and maintaining high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor fetal and maternal status during labor using intermediate fetal monitoring techniques.
• Administer medications and interventions as ordered to support labor progress and maternal well-being.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in compliance with hospital policies.
• Educate patients and families about labor, delivery, and postpartum care practices.
• Manage weekends, holidays, and night shifts from 1900 to 0730 hours, maintaining updated certifications and standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid nursing license with at least 2 years of Level 2 labor and delivery experience.
• ACLS and NRP certifications required.
• Proven competency in intermediate fetal monitoring techniques.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Strong understanding of AWHONN standards and labor & delivery protocols.
