Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Waiver Home We are hiring for a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional to provide support for individuals and/or groups of persons with intellectual, developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use challenges in the community. Location: Statesville, NC Employment Type: Regular (Full‑time) Salary: $15.00 per hour Sign‑On Bonus: $1,000.00 for full‑time employees, paid pursuant to training schedule. Schedule: Shifts and schedules may vary by location; a variety of shifts are available, covering all days of the week, Monday through Sunday. Responsibilities Assist with health and safety procedures. Assist with people supported development. Assist with person‑supported community life. Provide support to team members and supervisors. Assist with person‑centered plan and outcomes. Assist with medical requests. Assist with data collection and reporting. Position Requirements At least 18 years of age. Valid driver’s license. High school diploma or GED. Physical requirements: lift 30 lbs regularly, lift minimum 70 lbs, pull minimum 50 lbs, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop, use hands to finger/handle/feel objects, stand and walk regularly, demonstrate proficiency in CPR involving hands, knees, bending, standing, and lifting. Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Pre‑Employment Screening Criminal background check from registries (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities). Drug testing. Education verification and credentialing based on position requirements. Proof of employment history or references if required.
