Job Details Position: IMCU Registered Nurse (RN) Schedule: 4 days per week, days shift (0645-1915), 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale), minimum 1 year of RN experience in telemetry, neuro stepdown, or similar units, and experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills. Preferred Qualifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), Cerner charting system experience, hospital acute care experience, Level I trauma experience, teaching hospital experience, and familiarity with rapid response teams. Certifications: BLS and NIHSS are required; ACLS is preferred. Additional Responsibilities: Manage multiple clinical procedures including arterial line management, medication administration, use of rapid response teams, patient monitoring, tracheostomy management, and wound care. Patient Population: Adults with diverse diagnoses including neurosurgical, cardiac, trauma, and orthopedic cases. The unit supports a high patient throughput with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:4, with potential charge nurse responsibilities. Other Requirements: Floating as needed within scope, discussing potential block schedule adjustments with management, no on-call duties, and flexibility to work during major holidays.
