General Description Under the direction of the manufacturing leadership, the Machine Operator will work to operate various types of equipment. Machines such as a brake press, laser, plasma, etc. They will need to be able to use calipers and a tape measure , and required precision measuring instruments. They will need to be able to set up and run parts completely while doing periodic quality checks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures. Perform all required maintenance for machines. Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools. Stop machines to remove finished work pieces, or to change tooling, setup, or work piece placement, according to required machining sequences. Calculate machine speed and feed ratios, and the size and position of cuts. Able to layout features on material using drawings. Able to be self-motivated and stay organized. Other duties as assigned to support the needs of the department. Helps drive and support BCT's Culture and Core Values. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and detail oriented. Basic computer skills. Must be able to read and comprehend part documentation (blueprints, tolerances, inspection criteria) Mechanical aptitude (working with hand tools, pneumatic tools, following work instructions for disassembling and reassembling various types of process equipment) Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Experience operating large machines or mechanical experience. 1 year of experience working with large machinery or in a manufacturing environment is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr Blast Cleaning Technologies, Inc.
