Jupiter Medical Center is the only hospital in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties to receive a 4-star quality and safety rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).**Education*** Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapist Program with Associate’s Degree. **Experience / Qualifications*** Registered Respiratory Therapist by NBRC* Current Florida RT or TT license* CRT is accepted, but must become a Registered Respiratory Therapist within 36 months from initial hire date* BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.* ACLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.* PALS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.* NRP certification through the American Academy of Pediatrics within 90 days from initial hire date **Position Summary**The Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner will perform all respiratory care techniques in both critical and non-critical care areas. They will assist and advise staff Certified Respiratory Practitioners.* Duties will include but are not limited to the following: aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, CPT, incentive spirometry, mechanical ventilation, arterial blood gases, pulmonary function testing, pulse oximetry, assist with fiberoptic bronchoscopy and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.* Perform other duties as assigned.**Team Member Competencies** Establishing RelationshipsBuilds effective networks, working relationships, and alliances in order to collaborate effectively within department and organization. The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs. **Threshold Requirements*** These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis. + Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation. + TB/PPD Surveillance Program + Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
