Position: Department of Physics Lecturer (Temporary/Lecturer) Job no: 556243 Work type: Instructional Faculty - Temporary/Lecturer Location: San Diego Categories: Unit 3 - CFA - California Faculty Association, Temporary, Part Time The Department of Physics in the College of Sciences is accepting applications for part‑time and full‑time lecturer positions for the 2026‑2027 academic year. These temporary appointments may be full‑time or part‑time. Applicants from the part‑time pool are often hired just before the start of the academic term, so availability on short notice is required. The Fall term runs from mid‑August to late‑December, the Spring term runs from mid‑January to mid‑May, and teaching opportunities during the Summer Sessions may also be available. Initial appointments are typically one semester or one academic year, to be renewed contingent upon satisfactory evaluations and continued availability of work. Applications remain in the applicant pool for the year they apply. University teaching experience. Demonstrated currency in subject matter. Salary Ranges (July 2024) Lecturer A: $5,507‑$6,677 Lecturer B: $6,221‑$13,224 Lecturer C: $6,825‑$14,523 Lecturer D: $8,593‑$15,211 Background Check and Other Employment Requirements All applicants must authorize background checks if they become finalists for the position.
