The nurse is accountable for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of the environment utilizing the nursing process. Our operating room nurses provide individual care to patients before, during and after surgery.Essential Job DutiesEnsures that the surgical room is sterile and safe for the patientEnsures the surgical room is properly set for the surgical procedureMust have strong attention to detail and physical stamina to handle long, required work hoursAssesses the needs of the patient during the procedure, to ensure the best outcomeWorks with the Physician and Anesthesia Provider to safely care for the patient during the surgeryKeeps a record the surgical procedure, supplies and instrumentsAssist Anesthesia Provider during induction and in the event of an emergencyOther DutiesGuidelines and standards of careUnderstanding team concept in working with othersDemonstrate excellence in communication and interpersonal skillsDisplay professionalismAbility to efficiently multi-taskSuccessfully contribute to a work environment of caring and cooperationQualificationsGraduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferredPossess or eligible for a current Arizona Registered Nurse LicenseACLS certification requiredPrior Circulating Nurse experiencePhysical Requirements/Working ConditionsFrequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting; must be able to stand/walk for up to 70% of the work day; must be able to lift, transfer, turn and position residents weighing up to 125 lbs. unassisted, or with the assistance of one for a resident weighing over 125 lbs. May be subjected to offensive odors and combative behavior. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally. May be exposed to communicable diseases including the HIV and HBV viruses. Must be able to work paying close attention to detail with frequent interruptions.
