Our organization is actively looking to hire a full-time Outpatient Adult Psychiatrist for a position at a hospital located in Schenectady, NY. With over 50 years of experience, the Psychiatry department has been dedicated to assisting individuals in overcoming mental health challenges, providing specialized services for adults, children, and adolescents. The adult outpatient clinic, recently updated, fosters a supportive, collaborative, and interdisciplinary atmosphere, delivering exceptional mental health care to a diverse population. The clinic features various programs and services, including integrated primary care, medication management, individual and group therapy, personalized recovery-oriented services (PROS), and crisis diversion services for adults, children, and their families.

Position Overview:

• The Psychiatrist will assess and treat adult patients facing a wide array of mental health issues, such as mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, personality disorders, and dual diagnosis conditions.
• Initial intake appointments allow for up to 90 minutes, while follow-up sessions can last up to 30 minutes.
• In addition to medication management, there are opportunities for those interested in providing individual psychotherapy and/or leading psychotherapy groups.
• Work hours: Monday to Friday, with options for 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts.
• On-call duties are compensated additionally, typically on a voluntary basis. The usual on-call schedule includes one weeknight (telephone only) every four weeks and one weekend (in-person) every eight weeks.

Qualifications:

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

• MD or DO degree
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• DEA and NYS licensure required
• Experience in treating an adult psychiatric patient population
• Strong clinical and communication skills, along with a commitment to team-oriented care

Compensation and Benefits:

Our organization provides a comprehensive salary and benefits package that includes:

• Compensation ranging from $318,449 to $354,957, based on experience, with potential for additional earnings through a quality incentive program.
• The stated salary represents the initial compensation range and does not account for productivity bonuses, quality and performance incentives, extra shift bonuses, or other applicable cash compensation. Additionally, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits from their medical group employer. This salary range is in compliance with state law and may vary based on the aforementioned factors.
• Relocation assistance is available.
• A starting bonus of $25,000.
• A retention bonus of $30,000.
