Position Summary:

Buyer1is responsible foron-time deliveryand inventory management, as well as supporting cost avoidance and supply chain risk mitigation initiatives across the business.The individual's primary responsibility is to ensure the availability of purchased parts, components,assemblies,and services to satisfy Customer Orders. The role requires a self-motivated, positive, individual withvery strongtactical abilities, an eagerness tolearn,and a significant sense of urgency,willingness,andabilityto interact at all levels of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create, process, and track purchase orders, ensuring accuracy andtimelydeliverywith vendor follow-up

• Complete the required daily routine of MRP actions and associated analysis, problem solving, and reporting tomaintaintimelyflow of purchased material and communicationregardingdelivery dates,including the review of inventory levels,safetystock, customer orders, etc.

• Maintainaccuratesystem data for all purchase parameters including lead-times, price, lot sizes, minimums, and multiples.

• Actively seek alternate sources or substitutions to proactively solve material availability issues whileseekingtooptimizelead-time, price, and inventory investment.

• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers to drive a favorable total cost solution.

• Proactively manage suppliers and shipments tooptimizefreight consolidationprograms.

• Develops close working relationships will all suppliers.

• Be the point person forsupplier'scommercial and/or technical questions and requests.

• Execute new supply chain cost savings projecton schedule, providing regular updatesto management as needed.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department and organization asrequired.

• Work cross functionally with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Receiving, Finance,Salesand Customer Service to share information on current business issues and meet company demands.

• Conform to all ISO 9001 policies and procedures, Company Code of Ethics, and Company Purchasing Policies.

• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree - Procurement, Logistics, Business,Engineeringor related field,preferred.

• Strong computer skills includingproficiencyin Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

• Strong multi-tasking capabilities, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.

• Ability to think both tactically and strategically.

• Ability and willingness to work in a global environmentcomprisedof both domestic andoffshoresuppliers.

• Exceptional time management skills.

• Experience or education with Kanban systems and other lean manufacturing techniques, preferred.

• Experience, or knowledge of, ERP/MRP/MRP II systems, preferred.

• Travel <10%

• Onsite 5 days a week in a plant/ office environment
